Short Course in Data Science: Intermediate (SCDSI)
Data science is the study of extracting meaningful insights from data. It is a forward-looking approach with the focus on analysing the past or current data and predicting the future outcomes with the aim of making informed decisions. Regardless of industry or size, organisations that wish to remain competitive in the age of big data need to efficiently develop and implement data science capabilities. The Short Courses in Data Science have four levels: Short Course in Data Science: An Introduction Short Course in Data Science: Intermediate Short Course in Data Science: Advanced Short Course in Data Science: Expert

Short Course in Cyber Security (SCCS)
The Short Course in Cyber Security will provide participants with knowledge of the fundamental principles, underlying theory and practical skills employed in securing information and networks. It will allow learners to assess the security risks inherent in computer networks and the technologies that can be employed to counter such risks. It covers cryptographic algorithms, including practical examples of breaking codes. As a practical course that teaches the principles of network security and cryptography. Learners will be able to acquire and demonstrate their practical, work ready skills in this field.
Short Course in Computer Basics (SCCB)
Our Short Course in Computer Basics will provide students with an introduction to the key Computer Basics that will be required in their studies. Students will learn basic skills in using word processors, spreadsheets and presentation software. The module will focus on the Microsoft Office suite, with reference being made to Microsoft Office 2010 software throughout. However, the module has been specifically designed to allow the relevant skills to be taught regardless of the software version being used. All material can be adapted to other versions of Microsoft Office (such as the 2007 version) and also other word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software package; students should not be disadvantaged through the use of any particular version.
Short Course in Artificial Intelligence (SCAI)
The Short Course in Artificial Intelligence (AI) short course will provide learners with the foundation and branches of Artificial Intelligence, such as search strategies, knowledge representation and reasoning techniques. This course will also introduce a range of well-known techniques and applications in artificial intelligence, such as fuzzy logic machine learning, expert systems, natural language processing, and intelligent agents.
The Internet Of Things
The course "The Internet of Things" explores the network of interconnected devices that collect and exchange data. It covers key concepts such as sensors, communication protocols, and IoT architecture. Students will learn how to design, develop, and manage IoT systems for applications in areas like smart homes, healthcare, and industrial automation.
Data Science
You’ll be able to grasp the meaning of terms such as Big Data and determine the differences between Business Intelligence and Data Science. In understanding the Data Science Project Lifecycle, you will be able to identify different types of data and learn how it is interpreted. You will also explore the different tools Data Science utilises to analyse and generate predictions. Rounding of this module you will begin to observe the key trends impacting the future of Data Science, evaluate key factors shaping the industry and identify potential career opportunities in this sector.
Cloud Computing
The evolution of Cloud Computing has brought many advantages as well some disadvantages to businesses and this module will help you understand the layers of Cloud Computing and its essential characteristics. The final chapter will help you explore the future of Cloud Computing and understand the impact of Cloud Computing on businesses, workforces, and societies.
Artificial Intelligence
The emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) comes much earlier than many people think and will surprise more in how this approach in computer science is being incorporated into almost every aspect of new technologies being developed today. In completing this module, you will be able to make the distinction between Artificial Intelligence and Business Intelligence, identify the current trends relating to AI development and the future growth areas in different sectors.
Digital Transformation
This module will help you grasp the distinctions made between digitisation and digital transformation and observe how the pandemic has driven the transformation at an even greater pace. You’ll be able to identify career opportunities and how to measure the success of digital transformation within your own projects or initiatives. Digital technology is transforming at such a speed across industries it is necessary to be responsive by being aware of what changes are occurring and how this could potentially impact organisations and your career in the future. You’ll be able to identify career opportunities and how to measure the success of digital transformation within your own projects or initiatives.
